Rivers NUJ Election: National Industrial Court orders Union to include candidate

The National Industrial Court sitting in Port Harcourt has ordered the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, to immediately include Obed Omah as Chairmanship candidate in the NUJ, Rivers State Council Election scheduled to hold on Thursday.

The court gave the order following the relief sort by Obed Omah over his disqualification to contest the election.

Obed Omah through his counsel, Dr. C. N. Nwankwo had approached the National Industrial Count to restore his candidacy following his arbitrary, unlawful and unconstitutional disqualification.

Obed Omah further prayed the court to set aside any purported election to the office of the Chairman of the Rivers State Council of NUJ as he was unjustly and unlawfully excluded.
