NUPENG issues ultimatum to 7 companies

Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas (NUPENG) has issued 7day’s ultimatum to 12 multi-national oil companies operating within the South-South and South-East zones over anti-labour practices.

Portharcourt Zonal Chairman of NUPENG, Comrade Alex Agwanwor, who disclosed this during a press briefing at the NUPENG secretariat, Port Harcourt, said the ultimatum is given based on massive redundancies, unfair practices, termination and victimization of union worker’s.

According to him, all necessary measures that the union have put in place to reach the management of the companies have proved abortive, adding that the strike action is only option left.

On his part, Deputy President NUPENG, Comrade Bassey Harry, said after 7days of no reversal of these anti labour practices, Petroleum Tankers in the Eastern zone will embark on strike

The 12 Companies given the Ultimatum are OES Deepsea offshore, Oil data wireline limited, ENG Rypac limited, Jemmtek resources limited, Amber resources labour contractors, Neat oil, Midis energy services limited, CKS environmental service limited, NAOC service contract, Tecon oil services, Universal energy services and AITEO Nigeria limited.
