Jonah Jang Blasts Buhari, APC Govs Over Non-Performance In Port Harcourt

…Commissions Rivers State Civil Servants Quarters

Kelechi Esogwa-Amadi

Former governor of Plateau State, Jonah Jang, today described President Muhammadu Buhari and All Progressives Congress (APC) governors as under-performers.

Jang, who spoke today shortly before commissioning the 24-unit civil servants quarters built by Governor Nyesom Wike at Lagos Street, Port Harcourt, maintained that no APC governor has embarked on any project, adding that PDP governors are the only ones building and commissioning projects.

Insisting that nothing good is happening under President Muhammadu Buhari since he took power three years ago, Jang hailed Governor Wike for the many projects he had embarked on since emerging governor in 2015. He said because of Governor Wike’s developmental projects, Port Harcourt is gradually returning to her garden city status while Rivers State is gradually taking its shape.

“I have seen the new garden city coming back. I used to be here as a young army officer when Port Harcourt used to be a very beautiful garden city. But Port Harcourt was devastated during the civil war. Today Port Harcourt and Rivers State are taking a completely new shape. Wike is giving PDP a new name. PDP is now a rebranded party,” he said

Earlier, Governor Nyesom Wike said the building of the civil servants quarters was a demonstration of his respect for Rivers workers. He promised to ensure that the building is maintained by contracting a firm to manage it.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the commissioning of the project, NLC chairperson in Rivers State, Comrade Beatrice Itubo, commended Governor Wike for his magnanimity.

She said the project is a good omen for her administration as NLC chairman.
