Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has assured the people of Ekpeye Ethnic Nationality that he will complete all the projects initiated in the area .
He announced that a campus of the Rivers State University will be located in the area, while noting that the chairman of the Rivers State University Governing Council and the Vice Chancellor have been directed to work out the modalities.
Governor Wike stated that his administration is willing to grant more amnesty to repentant cultists in the area because of the need for total peace for development.
The governor noted that his administration has been fair to the Ekpeye Ethnic Nationality in terms of key appointments and projects. He said the people deserve government’s patronage.
He urge Ekpeye people to be involved in politics as a way of ensuring that development is entrenched in the area.
On the election of representatives in 2019, Governor Wike charged the Ekpeye people to elect credible legislators who will not short-change them.
He noted that the member of the State Assembly who defected recently, denied his people development by diverting constituency project funds meant for his people.
