Rivers LGA Polls: Police deploy 16,000 officers

The Nigerian Police force has said it has deployed 16,000 police officers for the conduct of the June 16 Local Government Elections, on Saturday in Rivers State.

The spokesperson of the state police command, Nnamdi Omoni disclosed this, and said their will be restriction of movement during the Local Government Elections on Saturday.

“In the first place there will be restriction of movement on the election day.

“Everybody will go about his lawful business (Voting) on the election day.

“We’re deploying all our men. We have about 16,000 police men in the command. All police officer are coming, even those in the offices. Everybody will be out.

“We’ve deployed everybody. Even the Commissioner of Police will be on patrol.

“We are going to embark on routes patrol and then also on convoy patrols of all the nooks and crannies.

“So I can assure you very seriously, that there won’t be any security breach.
