Unconfirmed reports say Sergeant Ndubuisi Okoro, a Police Officer of the Rivers State Command of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, has been arrested for armed robbery and kidnapping.
Also arrested is another member of the Rivers State SARS; Sergeant Christopher Abakpa for armed robbery and kidnapping.
TPCN learnt that the two officers run a kidnap and armed robbery gang of eight persons.
The arrested policemen allegedly confessed to the crime upon their arrest.
They have been detained at the SARS facility in Port Harcourt, awaiting transfer to Abuja for further investigations, a source said.
Attempts to reach Nnamdi Omoni, the Spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command proved abortive as his line was switched off.
