Technical Adviser of Rivers United, Coach Stanley Eguma, has lamented his side’s inability to score enough goals following their goalless draw against relegation-threatened Sunshine Stars at the Yakubu Gowon stadium.
The goalless draw now sees the ‘pride of Rivers’ fire blank in two consecutive home games, and coach Eguma bared his mind about this thread in a post-match interview.
“I think it’s football, and as coaches, we work hard and work on the areas we know that will help us perform like the scoring.
“Today, you could see the number of scoring chances we created. Just to put the ball in the net, the players are not able to do that, it’s not good enough for us and I feel very bad about that.
“The result of this game does not reflect the standard we played.
“Virtually we played in Sunshine’s half throughout the second half. And that shows a mark of pressure on them. The players were just unable to convert those chances, which is what matters in the game of football.
“It’s so unfortunate, but we would get it right.
