The Senator representing Rivers-West senatorial district in the National Assembly, Osinakachukwu Ideozu, has raised a petition on behalf of Elder Statesmen of Rivers State on various threats from certain people against the 2019 elections.
Senator Ideozu who is the only Peoples Democratic Party Senator from the state said during plenary on Wednesday that the level of threats against the people of Rivers state by politicians has reached an alarming level.
Although he did not mention names of those who he claimed were issuing threats in the state, he however, maintained that threats like that are capable of heating up the polity, stressing that if noting is done, it might reach a level where people will be killed in their numbers.
He urged the Senate to act in order to avert any form of crises that might likely occur due to utterances by politicians in the state in during the election season.
