Port Harcourt: Man, 44, arrested for defiling 4 daughters.

The International Federation of Female Lawyers (FIDA), on Thursday, 24 May, says it has arrested one Mr. Michael Akpan, a 44-year-old man for defilement and sexual abuse.

Mr. Akpan who is presently in the custody of the state criminal investigation department of the police in Port Harcourt, was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly defiling four of his daughters, including his 2-year old-daughter.

Mrs. Fortune, the proprietress of the school the girls attend, reported the matter to the police. She said one of the girls disclosed to her that their father had been defiling them ( the girl and her sister’s) for the past two years. She equally said that the man threatened to deal with her if she tells anyone.

On her part, the mother of the girls, Mrs. Grace Akpan, also disclosed to Theportcitynews.com, that her husband Mr. Michael Akpan beats the eldest daughter who is 16 years old each time she refuses to have sex with him.

Mrs. Akpan also said she had reported the incessant defilement of her daughters by her husband to relatives of her husband severally, but all fell on deaf ears.

An executive of the International Federation of Female Lawyers, Rivers State Branch, Fortune Ada-Nda who is expected to prosecute the matter in court, confirmed to Theportcitynews.com that all medical examinations proves that the girls had been defiled.

Ada-Nda said the 11-year old girl is now ovulating as a result of the incessant defilement by her father.

As at the time of filing in this report, the matter was yet to be filed in court.
