The Peoples Democratic Party in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State on Tuesday, May 22nd, 2018, officially flagged off its campaign for the 2018 Local Government Election slated for Saturday, June 16th, 2018.
The campaign which held at the St Paul’s State School Field, Ahoada, witnessed processions by different wards with their councillorship candidates, and goodwill messages from leaders of the party in the State.
Addressing party faithful in the local Government, the State Chairman of the party, Bro Felix Obuah, urged them to work with the chairmanship candidate, Barr. Ben Eke, to ensure PDP wins the forthcoming elections as a way of showing appreciation to Governor Wike for various projects he has done in the LGA and also for the appointments given out to sons and daughters of Ahoada East.
The PDP National Vice Chairman, South-South, Elder Emmanuel Ogidi, presented the party’s Flags to the Councillorship candidates of the 13 wards in the Local Government.
In his vote of thanks, the Chairmanship candidate of the Local Government Area, Barr. Ben Eke, expressed gratitude to the State Chairman for taking out time to attend the event.
Barr. Eke equally thanked the LGA PDP leadership and Elders for mobilizing supporters who made the event a success, and prayed that God grants everyone safe return to their various destinations.
Those who received flags as councillors were : Edima Christian, ward 1, Okorogba Salvation, ward 2, Okirigwe Innocent Green, ward 3, Harold Edema, ward 4. Others are Awadu Gift, for wars 5, Ogenma Idalunimulu, ward 6, Aguiyi Abule, ward 7, Jeff Chikeya Leventis, ward 8 . The rest include Mrs Chinere Innocent, ward 9, Igwe Nwobueze Kingsley, ward 10, Wilson Livingstone, ward 11, Chief Comfort Obume, ward 12 and Cyril Job ward 13.
Dignitaries at the event include; The PDP State Chairman Bro Felix Obuah, PDP State Deputy Chairman, Hon. Charles Awortu, PDP State Secretary, Hon. Johnson Okpoko, Ahoada East CTC Chairman, Dame Beatrice Awala, Ahoada East PDP Chairman Barr. Sunny Ideozu, Member State Honours Committee Dr. Berewari and Hon.Blessing Emeka Okorogba.
