Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has alleged that there is a plot to assassinate him by the APC-led Federal Government.
The governor equally disclosed that intelligence reports available to him as at May 20th, indicates that FG is planning the assassination attempt in a crowded area of which the FG would claim it to be an accidental discharge.
Wike stated this during the third year anniversary thanksgiving service of his administration at the Living Faith Church in D-Line, Port Harcourt on Sunday.
The governor, however, said that the assassination plot by the FG and her associates will not in any way deter him or intimidate his commitment to the defence of democracy and to the Rivers State people, saying that the plan will fail.
Governor Wike also bemoaned the level of conspiracy on his government, a situation he said has become quite unfortunate.
Theportcitynew.com recalls that Governor Wike had earlier raised alarm over what he said were FG’s plans to plant incriminating objects on him during any of his trips outside the shores of the country.
Wike who has been in a protracted verbal battle with the commander, F-SARS, Akin Fakorede, opined that the APC Federal Government, through the Inspector General of Police plotted to plant millions of dollars and AK 47 at his Abuja residence when the Police sought to obtain a search warrant from an Abuja court, although last week, the Court ruled that the Police cannot search his Abuja residence, stopping them from their evil plot.
“I am not afraid of my residence being searched by the Police, but I know their evil intention”, he said.
On the reason why he was in church, Wike who said that the State Government is thanking God for his protection in the face of protracted attacks by agents of the APC Federal Government against his Government, added that his government is born to win, born to reign and destined for greatness. He maintained that while other states are commissioning wheelbarrows, his government is commissioning infrastructure.
He also stated that despite the declaration by the former governor and current Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, that his administration will not be able to pay salaries let alone do projects, his administration has succeeded in delivering outstanding projects within 3 years.
