The Rest Place Celebrates Akwa Ibom Day

The Rest Place, Port Harcourt, held their monthly Nigerian Tribe Sunday. It is a monthly show of different indigenous cultures aimed at celebrating Nigeria’s unique unity in diversity.

The culture celebrated for the month of May was the Akwa Ibom culture. The attires were awesome in a special kind of way as congregants made bold individual expressions of what the day signifies.

Theportcitynews.com was there to cover the event which also featured indigenous delicacies of the Akwa Ibom people. A lot of food were on display and congregants lined up to have a taste of the different meals displayed.

The food tasting was followed by praise and worship with the church’s choir thrilling congregants with rendition of different Akwa Ibom Christian songs.

The Bible was also read in local Akwa Ibom dialects to the cheering of the expectant church goers.

We brought you pictures, a lot of them. The church service was fun, lovely and lively.

Enjoy…
