The National working committee of the All Progressive Congress has cancelled the May 5th ward Congress and May 12th LGA Congress.
The NWC has subsequently ordered for a fresh Ward and Local Government Congresses in Rivers State.
The party said it reached this decision after due consultation with major stakeholders and in view of the fact that the National Convention of the party is scheduled for 2nd June 2018, and in order to allow all state chapters to participate including Rivers, and also in the interest of peace.
Therefore, the new dates for the Ward Congress, LGA Congress and State Congress have now been fixed for Saturday May 19th for the Ward Congress, Sunday May 20th for the Local Government Congress and Monday 21st May for the State Congress.
The party also urged faithfuls who paid for forms and didn’t collect them previously to immediately head to the Party Secretariat and obtain there forms.
The party also said that those who are interested in picking forms should also proceed to the Party’s Secretariat and make cash payments to obtain their forms.
The party further urged members to remain steadfast as it’s hopeful of overcoming the present travail facing the party in the state.
