Police officer kills Soldier in Port Harcourt.

An unidentified off-duty personnel of the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army has been shot dead by a Police officer attached to the Ada George Police Station, Chinda in Port Harcourt.

The unnamed senior officer was said to have had little altercation with the police unit who spotted a gun said to be his service pistol before a member of the unit shot him at the spot.

TPCN gathered that the military dispatched a Brigadier-General to the site for inspection and evacuation of the remains of the dead officer.

As at the time of filing this report, the DPO of the Ada George Station, Chinda, has been arrested by officers of the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt while the Police unit who shot the officer has reportedly taken to their heels.

TPCN also learnt that the Rivers State Police Command has sent a high-powered delegation made up of top officers to the Port Harcourt barracks to resolve the matter.
