RVSG issues new directives to Drivers and Mechanics

The Rivers State Government has issued a new directive to Taxi Drivers, especially those doing business at the Port Harcourt mall.

A statement signed by the Rivers State Commissioner for transport, Ibinabo Michael West, advised taxi drivers doing business at the Port Harcourt mall to redirect their operations to the back of the mall.

The statement also directed all motor Mechanics operating along roadsides in Port Harcourt, to relocate to designated spaces for motor Mechanics and ensure that they operate within registered areas.

The statement further advised unregistered motor Mechanics operating in Rivers State to ensure that they are duly registered with the National Association of Technicians Rivers State in the next seven days.

The statement further advised owners of private driving school in Rivers State to get registered, while owners and operators of commercial buses, taxi’s and tricycles operating in Rivers State have also been given one month to ensure that their vehicles are painted in the state colors of blue and white.

The statement said the ministry of transport has set up a special task force, to ensure compliance to the directive.
