APC Governorship ticket remains zoned to the Rivers South-East Senatorial district- Abe

The Senator representing the people of Rivers South-East Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Magnus Abe, has said the governorship ticket of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Rivers State remains zoned to his Senatorial district.

Magnus Abe, who is a governorship hopeful under the APC, made this known at the opening of the Freedom House, GRA PH, which is to serve as his liaison office for his Gubernatorial ambition.

“I will repeat it here for greater clarity. Zoning is not in the Constitution of our party, but it is in our morality.

“In 2014, the leadership of the APC in Rivers State agreed that for justice, equity and fairness, we should give the opportunity to produce the next Governor of our state to Rivers South-East Senatorial District, this was done in 2015.

“The arguments that validated that decision and made it just and equitable in 2015, still subsists today.

“And as far as I know, no meeting of the party has reversed that decision.

“If we decide not to follow that decision today because it no longer fits our political expediency. We may do so, but then we must be aware that we will be going to Rivers people with the same moral baggage as our opponent.

“If we argue that the continuous stay of Governor Nyesom Wike in office, is unfair and unjust to sections of our state, our own ticket will be equally unjust if it doesn’t take the continuous marginalization of the Rivers South-East Senatorial district into consideration.

“So, as far as I know, our Governorship ticket remains zoned to the Rivers South-East Senatorial district” he concluded.
