Black soot protest should be channeled to the Federal Government – Gov Wike

Ahead of the Black Soot protest to be organized by the civil liberty organization, in Port Harcourt on Thursday, April 19th 2018, Governor Wike has called on the campaigners to campaign against the Federal Government and not the state government.

Governor Wike who spoke at the Government House, Port Harcourt, accused the Federal government of being responsible for the degradation and pollution of the Rivers State environment.

Wike while calling on the campaigners to demonstrate against the Federal Government in the interest of justice, said the Rivers State has done all that it’s supposed to do, including advocacy and enlightenment campaigns with no action from the Federal Government.

The Governor assured Rivers people that his administration will continue to prevail on the security agencies and regulatory institutions to take the right steps to stop the soot.
