Inactivity rocks Onne Port

Lack of activities have rocked the Onne sea Port, one of the major sea ports in the country.

TPCN investigation gathered that since Federal Government terminated the contract between the Nigerian Port Authority and Intels, there has been constant decline in activities within the port facilities.

A source told a TPCN reporter that due to the termination of agreement between NPA and Intels, there has been regular laying off of staff by the management of Intels.

The source said that this has culminated in the staff of the company harbouring general apprehension as the company targets senior personnel for disengagement.

Some of the expatriates working for Intels have since left the country. Although, the Federal Government has not signed an agreement with any other company to take over the functions of Intels.

This, the source said, has created general loss of revenue on both sides with Intels the worst hit.
