Only you can help yourself – Professor Steve Azaiki

A University Don and Professor of Education at the Niger Delta University, Professor Steve Azaiki has stated that quality and effective Leadership is the only process that will drive Nigeria to the part of national development.

Professor Azaiki made the call during a symposium and exhibition at the Quantum Business School Graduation in Port Harcourt.

He stressed that the key to the development of countries in Asia is in the institution of thinking and practical leadership.

The Don maintained that people go to school in Nigeria just to learn something and not to open their minds.

Professor Azaiki who was the keynote speaker spoke on the theme: Igniting/Equipping and Accelerating Global entrepreneurs, maintained that the importance of training should not be underestimated when it comes to economic advancement.

He regretted the fact that Nigeria doesn’t have institutions that prepare people for leadership but stressed that there is no timeline or time limit for learning and Value creation/creativity.

He urged the graduands to do much for the upliftment of the country and said that the graduands are the hope for a good Nigeria saying “Only you can help yourself”

He also reiterated the fact that there is no substitute to starting one’s own business and encouraged the graduands to practice what they have learned as the power of practicing what was learned will make the mission of the school realistic.
