The Grassroot Development Initiative (GDI), has thrown their weight behind the Governor of Rivers State, Chief Barr Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, towards his reelection bid for the forth coming elections.
The chairman of the the group, Hon. Bright Amaewhule, made the call while receiving the members of All Progressive Congress (APC) who defected from their party to PDP in Amadiama ward 20 in PortHarcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Hon. Bright Amaewhule who received the decampees insisted that they should go and obtain their voters card and hide it where APC will not see it and invoke snake that will swallow it. He assured the defectors of equal opportunities like any other members of the PDP.
Also speaking, the secretary of GDI and also the publicity secretary to the of Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers, Mr. Samuel Wanosike, stressed that PDP is the hope of Nigeria, and enjoined them to use their voters card to vote out the government of president Buhari who don’t know how to govern his people.
Wanosike stressed that people like Mr Maxwell Inimgba and chief Owens Tubomini who spoke during the defection are the movers and shakers of ward 20 that any politician who is calculative can attest to in PHALGA.
He maintained that the people are tired of the lies and deceit of president Buhari and APC.
In the same vein, the leader of the defectors, chief (Dr )Owens T said that his defection today is due to the developmental strides of the Governor.
Chief Owens said that when the righteous rule, the people rejoice and when the wicked rule the people mourn, saying that Gov Wike has shown capacity with his leadership style to the people of Rivers State.
Mr. Max Inimgba in his speech said that the Governor should sleep well and leave ward 20 for them.
