The Bayelsa State Police Command has confirmed the kidnapping of Mr. Robert Desmond, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and leader of a campaign group called the New Face.
Spokesman of the command, Asimin Butswat, confirming the abduction in Yenagoa said that the police had begun investigation to arrest the perpetrators.
Reports indicate that the victim was kidnapped on Saturday after a social event in Nembe Local Government.
Meanwhile, the Caretaker Chairman, Brass Local Government, Mr. Victor Isaiah, has condemned the act, describing it as wickedness to humanity.
He urged security operatives to ensure the release of the victim and Isaiah implored anyone with information that could lead to Desmond’s release to report to the authorities.
