The Rivers State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Bro Felix Obuah has been ordered by Rivers State High Court to honour an invitation by the Police.
The order followed a petition written against Obuah on the killings recorded in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local government area before, during and after the 2015 general elections.
The All Progressives Congress in the state had written a petition to the Police over a large spate of killings recorded in ONELGA before the 2015 elections.
The APC in the petition also accused Obuah of gun-running and sponsoring of the ONELGA killings.
Justice Adolphus Enebeli of the High Court in Port Harcourt had earlier dismissed an application by the PDP Chairman.
The PDP Chairman had challenged his invitation after police invited those mentioned in the petition.
Mr. Obuah, it was learned, accused former governor of Rivers State and Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, of political witch hunt.
Emenike Ebete, Counsel to the APC in Rivers State, told newsmen that the Police can now effect an arrest on the Rivers State PDP Chairman in the event he failed to honour their invitation.
Frank Orhiri who represented the Attorney General of Rivers State, Emma Aguma, SAN declined comments on the court’s verdict.
