Obio/Akpor LG Chairman Swears in Chief Protocol, Executive Assistant

The Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area in Rivers State, Hon. Dr. Gift Worlu, has sworn in Chinedu Ikwunga as Chief Protocol, Ike Amadi as Executive Assistant, and several Special Assistants at a ceremony held at the Council Secretariat in Rumuodomaya.

The appointments are part of strategic moves to bolster the administration’s capacity for effective grassroots governance and advance the chairman’s A.R.I.S.E. agenda, aimed at delivering efficient services to residents.

Administering the oath of office, Dr. Worlu described public service as a sacred trust, reminding the appointees that their swearing-in represents a binding commitment to the people of Obio/Akpor.

He charged them to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity, dedication, loyalty, and humility, insisting that the interests of the local government and its citizens must supersede personal gains.

“The oath you have taken today is a solemn pledge to serve selflessly. Your roles are pivotal in realising our administration’s objectives,” Worlu emphasised.

He further urged the new aides to draw on their professional expertise and past experiences to drive meaningful development across the LGA.

The event underscores Dr. Worlu’s ongoing efforts to build a robust team since assuming office, with a focus on accountability, inclusivity, and people-centred governance in one of Rivers State’s most populous and economically vital local government areas.
