Pastor Nkechi Ene of The Carpenter’s Church Passes On

The Christian community is in mourning following the announcement of the passing of Pastor Nkechi Ene, the presiding pastor of The Carpenter’s Church. She was 56 years old. The church confirmed the news in a statement released on its official Instagram page.

According to the church’s announcement, Pastor Ene, often affectionately referred to as “Pastor Kech,” died on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. The statement detailed that she had just returned to Nigeria from an extensive ministry trip, which was reported to have been successful and marked by miracles. Shortly after her return, she experienced a sudden health crisis while in the city of Lagos.

In their message, the congregation acknowledged the profound shock and grief felt by its members, but affirmed its faith, stating the community rests assured in “the unwavering truth that God is the good God and His mercies endure forever.”

The church’s tribute described Pastor Ene as a woman of great faith who dedicated her life to serving God and others, adding that she has now heard the words from her Master, “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matt. 25:21).

The church has asked for support and prayers, particularly for her immediate family. They requested that the community surround her husband, Bro. Emeka Ene, their four daughters—Zoe, Chloe, Tracy, and Osi—and her mother, Ma. Mercy Chijioke, with love and comfort during this difficult time.

Pastor Ene’s legacy was celebrated as that of a dedicated spiritual leader. She was hailed as one of the “great generals of God” in her generation, known for teaching “the undiluted Word of God.”

Until her passing, she served not only as the Presiding Pastor of The Carpenter’s Church but also as the Director of Schools at Ekklesia School of Local Church and as the host of the program Freshdew, which began in 1988.

She had previously served as an associate pastor to Pastor Charles Omofomah until he died in 2013. She is survived by her husband, her four daughters, and her mother.
