Omah Lay Reveals Battle With Depression

A wave of concern has swept through the fanbase of acclaimed Nigerian singer Stanley Omah Didia, known professionally as Omah Lay, following a series of alarming posts on his Snapchat account. The superstar revealed that he is experiencing a significant recurrence of depression, which he directly attributes to the pressures of his professional life in the music industry.

In a candid and emotional rant, the artist pointed to his recording contract and broader business dealings as the source of his current mental health crisis.

Expressing profound frustration, Omah Lay appeared to place blame on his management and on decisions made earlier in his career. The singer’s distress was palpable in his own words, which he shared publicly:

**“F**k contacts. F**k labels. F**k the music business. F**k my younger self. F**k my manager. God please, I’m losing my mind again.”**

This public outcry comes just weeks after the singer parted ways with his former manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi. While Awoniyi had previously issued a statement suggesting an amicable separation, reports from Omah Lay’s label mate, Kaestyle, contradicted this, claiming the manager was, in fact, dismissed.

This recent incident adds a layer of complexity to the singer’s current state, hinting at possible unresolved professional conflicts.

This is not the first time Omah Lay has been open about his struggles with mental health. His debut album, ‘Boy Alone’, released on July 15, 2022, served as an exploration of his experiences with depression.

The situation took a deeply personal turn just days after the album’s release, when the singer disclosed on his X (formerly Twitter) account that his condition had worsened due to a deeply unethical breach of trust: a sexual affair with his therapist.

The latest posts have left fans in a state of panic, highlighting the immense and often hidden pressures faced by artists in the fast-paced music industry.
