Education Ministry Partners Firm On Five Days Civil Servants Training In Bayelsa

The Bayelsa State Ministry of Education in collaboration with Interweave Solutions International, USA, have organised a five-day training for civil servants from grade level five to 16 cadre.

The workshop on self reliance, business, wellness, counselling and retirement planning for management staff, is aimed at enhancing productivity in their various offices.

The training which commenced on Monday, July 14, will end on Friday, July 18, 2025.

According to report, over 100 civil servants are in attendance. The theme of the workshop is “Self Reliance, Business, Wellness Counselling & Retirement Planning.”

In a welcome address, the Bayelsa State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Emelah Gentle, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Okene Simon-Peter, said the training was geared towards developing the capacity of officers and ensuring the training and re-training of workers to make them productive while in service.

Simon-Peter described the exercise as a catalyst of enhancing efficiency in the ministry of education.

He commended Interweave Solutions International USA and urged the participants to take advantage of the training to enhance their capabilities.

He charged participants to be steadfast in the discharged of their duties and use the knowledge that would be acquired during the 5-day worship to add value to the ministry.

Declaring the workshop open, Simon-Peter, cautioned against lukewarm attitude to duties by staffers of the ministry, pointing out that job performance, discipline and total compliance to ethical rule will not be compromised.

Jeremiah David, noted that the training is aimed at enhancing the workers to be self reliant, saying the training being conducted by the Interweave Solutions International USA in partnership with the ministry of education would last for five days.
