PDP Governors Say No to Merger Talks, Backs Fubara for 2027

The PDP Governors’ Forum recently met in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, and made significant decisions regarding the party’s direction. The PDP has ruled out merging with other parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.

However, they welcome individuals or groups from other parties to join them in their quest for power and good leadership. The governors expressed alarm over the worsening security situation in Nigeria, particularly in Borno, Katsina, Edo, and Plateau.

They called for a revised national security strategy empowering state governments to form an effective defense line. The forum reiterated its solidarity with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, who is facing challenges due to the declaration of a state of emergency in his state. They vowed to stand by him until the end.
