Skales’ claim suggests that his own musical journey and accomplishments had a profound impact on Burna Boy’s development as an artist. This assertion is likely to generate interest and spark conversations among music enthusiasts, who may be eager to learn more about the dynamics between these two prominent figures in the Nigerian music industry.

In a recent interview with Naija FM in Lagos, Skales shared his perspective on his musical relationship with Burna Boy. According to Skales, prior to their collaboration on the “Temper Remix” in 2017, Burna Boy had not yet achieved mainstream success with a major hit song. Skales implied that their joint effort played a role in catapulting Burna Boy’s career to new heights.

However, Skales was also quick to acknowledge the reciprocal nature of their artistic relationship. He expressed his admiration for Burna Boy’s talent and revealed that the Port Harcourt-born singer has, in turn, inspired him over the years. Skales emphasized the importance of collaboration in the music industry, highlighting the value of supporting and promoting one another’s work.

By sharing his thoughts on their collaboration, Skales provided insight into the dynamics of their musical relationship and the ways in which they have influenced each other’s career

I inspired Burna Boy. He will agree with me. So, nobody help anybody. We probably admire ourselves and we decide to work together.

“As at then, Burna boy had no hot song before I featured him on ‘Temper Remix.’

“It was after our collaboration that he started excelling. I’m not trying to take credit for his success but he has inspired me over the years and I believe I inspired him at a point, too,” Skales said.

Port Harcourt-born singer Burna Boy is yet to comment on Skale’s statement.
