“I Don’t See Myself As A Famous Person,” Bimbo Ademoye Talks About Life As An Actress

Nollywood actress Bimbo Ademoye recently opened up about the dual nature of fame, describing it as both a blessing and a challenge. In a candid conversation with Saturday Beats, the actress shared her insights into the impact of fame on her life and her evolving career.

“Fame has blessed me, to be honest. I have been able to receive favours from people. Yet, I have managed to stay grounded and not let the fame get into my head. I don’t see myself as a famous person. I don’t even like the word ‘celebrity.’ I prefer being referred to as a ‘public figure,’” Ademoye said, highlighting her grounded approach to stardom.

The award-winning actress also shared her excitement about the progress Nollywood has made over the years. Reflecting on the industry’s evolution, she expressed her admiration for the strides taken to improve the quality of Nigerian cinema.

“I am very happy with the changes I’m seeing in Nollywood. People are now taking their time to shoot better-quality content. I’m really impressed with the improvement in Nollywood.

“I would love to see more. I pray we can have a Tyler Perry-style studio where we can walk in and shoot different projects,” she stated, emphasizing her hopes for Nollywood’s future.

Ademoye also spoke about her journey as a YouTube filmmaker, crediting her success to divine guidance. Despite her achievements, she maintains a humble perspective, believing that her career is still in its early stages.

“I don’t see myself the way people see me. I feel like I’m just starting. There’s a lot I haven’t done. Not that I’m rushing, but I haven’t directed my film yet. I haven’t made my cinema debut,” she remarked, hinting at her aspirations to explore new horizons in her craft.

Bimbo Ademoye continues to inspire fans and audiences alike, showcasing not just her talent but also her dedication to elevating Nollywood’s global reputation.
