By Brave Dickson

The Movement for the Survival of the Izon Ethnic Nationality (MOSIEND) says the Niger Deltans prefer Belemaoil Producing Limited to other oil multinational companies operating in the region.

In a chat with our correspondent, the National President of MOSIEND, Comrade Kennedy West highlighted the merits of Belemaoil as follows:

“Belemaoil has consciously ensured a clean and healthy environment within its host communities during and after its operation.

“Belemaoil has consistently complied with corporate and NNPC policies as well as international best practices which has made Belemaoil stand out.

“Belemaoil also stands out when it comes to the implementation of a Memorandum of Understanding with host communities.

“Belemaoil sees its host communities as itself. Meaning whatever is best for the host communities, is also best for the company.

“Belemaoil has also maintained a cordial relationship with its host communities in terms of its corporate social responsibilities.

“As an indigenous player, Belemaoil has proven itself to be the company that has the interest of its host communities at heart.”

As you may know, Belemaoil Producing Limited (BPL) acquired the entire 40% participating interest in OML-55 from Chevron Nigeria Limited in a competitive bidding process in 2013 and consequently became the operator of the OML-55 Asset in a Joint Venture with NNPC.
