Report has it that one Alabo, a landlord in Rivers State who inflicted machete cuts on his female tenant has been arrested by the police.

The female victim, Comfort Nwagadi was said to have been approached by the landlord for a romantic relationship which the victim rejected.

Angered by his request being rejected, Alabo was said to have assaulted the victim with a machete in the presence of the victim’s husband; an attack that left the woman injured and hospitalized.

It was gathered that the 48-year-old landlord fled immediately after the attack but has now been apprehended by the police, while the victim is demanding justice.

Nwagadi, the female tenant who confirmed Alabo’s arrest also narrated how Alabo ambushed her as soon as she entered the compound at Akolobia Street, Mike 3 Diobu, Port Harcourt, the state capital.

She said, “He used a machete on me because I rejected his request for a romantic relationship.

“I went out at night with my husband and came back around some minutes past 8:00 pm.

“We had no idea he was hiding at the entrance with a machete. As we entered the compound, he started using the machete on me.

“My husband tried to rescue me, but he also cut his hand. Since then, my husband and I cannot make use of our hands.

“I want the case to be charged to court for the sake of justice.

“We stayed in the hospital for two weeks and three days receiving treatments.”

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko was yet to speak on it as of the time of filing this report.
