The Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Simeon Amadi, has emphasized the need for training and retraining of judiciary staff to enhance speedy justice delivery.
Justice Amadi stated this while presenting his address and declaring open a two-day Workshop organized for the auxiliary Judiciary staff, drivers, Orderlies, and Protocol Officers, held at the auditorium of Justice Mary Odili Judicial Institute in Port Harcourt.
The Chief Judge who was represented by Justice Tomunoigoni Susan-Orji, said effective training of judiciary staff will promote efficiency in the implementation of the rule of law in the nation’s Judiciary system.
He described drivers, orderlies, and protocol officers as essential workers who play a crucial role in the administration of justice, adding that the training was organized to attain effectiveness and safety in the judiciary system.
“Our lives are entrusted on their hands especially the drivers who drive us, although, without God nothing we can do. the Orderlies and Protocol guard is first in the hands of God Almighty, they are also partly in the hands of the drivers, hence the training to enhance performance and efficiency becomes very important and reasonable.
“The training and retraining of judicial staffs of the State judiciary would continue to be a top priority in my administration for efficient and effective Judiciary service delivery”.
He described the theme of the training “Enhancing the performance of the Judiciary workers for effective and efficient” service delivery as very apt, just as he called on all the participants to take the training seriously and make good use of the knowledge they will garner from the training to improve on their working skills.
Earlier, the Administrator of Justice Mary Odili Judicial Institute, Port Harcourt, Justice Anwuri Ken-Chikwere, who Loretta Okezie Esq represented, opined that at the end of the two days of training, the beneficiaries are expected to be better trained, behaved, and be more efficient on their job performances.
