Rivers NUJ begins 3 days mourning in honour of Benue chairman

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Rivers State Council has commenced a three Day mourning as directed by the National Secretariat of the Union to honour the late Benue State Chairman, Mrs Victoria Asher.

Mrs Asher died on Saturday morning following childbirth complications.

The State Council in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Stanley Job Stanley and Secretary, Ike Wigodo, therefore, suspends all union activities in compliance with the directive.

The Rivers State Council also condoled with its National Secretariat and Benue State Council on the demise of Mrs Asher.

The Council prayed to God to comfort the family of Mrs Asher and Benue Council.

It further stated that the late Chairman will be remembered for her dedication, hard work and commitment to the journalism profession.
