Police hunt for killers of port worker in Rivers Community

The Rivers state police command says it has launched a manhunt for the killers of a port worker, Godknows Opudaa.

Nnamdi Omoni, the state police command public relation officer on Thursday, appealed for calm over the murder of Opudaa who was shot to death by unknown gunmen on Tuesday night.

The staff of West African Container Terminal, WACT, at Onne Sea Port in Eleme Local Government Area was killed by the gunmen who trailed him and shot him at Eteoo community while on his way to Port Harcourt.

Omoni said that no one has been arrested in connection with the crime, but that police have launched a manhunt for the killers.

He urged the communities not to embark on self-help, promising that police will arrest those behind the crime.
