Court strikes out charges against Sogules, 3 others

A​ Magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt has struck out criminal charges against the former Managing Director of Rivers State Micro Finance Agency, Ipalibo Walson Sogules; former​ Head, SMEs, Mr. Nimi Harry; Head Finance and Accounts, Mr. Ukele Okorji and former Internal Auditor of the agency, Mr. Sofiri Koko.

The presiding magistrate A .O. Amadi-Nna struck out the matter following an application filed by the State Attorney General Zacheaus Adango to discontinue the matter.

The State Attorney General cited section 108, subsection 2 of the Rivers State Criminal and administration Justice Law in court, and pleaded with the court to set the Defendants free.

Recall that the four Defendants were standing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy and advance free fraud of the sum of thirteen million naira.
