Ruling on the defamation suit filed by Peter Odili against Chidi Odinkalu and Aisha Osori has been adjourned by a Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt.

The ruling which was earlier slated for Friday was not delivered, following the announcement made by the presiding Judge, Justice Augusta Chukwu to parties in the case to come back for the matter.

Justice Chukwu who did not state the reason the ruling could not be given adjourned the case to 27th, January 2020.

Recall that the former Governor of Rivers State, Peter Odili, sued Chidi Odinkalu and Ayisha Osori over claims that the authors defamed him in their latest book, ‘Too Good To Die: Third Term and the Myth of the Indispensable Man in Africa.’.

Mr Odili also demanded a published apology and N1 billion from Mr Odinkalu and Mrs Osori, and that further publication of copies of the book should be stopped immediately.

Ifedayo Adedipe one of the Counsels to the Plaintiff Peter Odili, told our reporter Tina Amanda that the adjournment may mean that the judgement is not ready.

Counsels to the Defendants in the matter were absent in court.
