Boarding students of the University of Port Harcourt University Demonstration Secondary School have been hospitalized after they reportedly drank tea mixed with a cloth bleaching chemical, Hypo.
A student of the school said the incident occured on Wednesday morning, 20th of November while the students were taking their breakfast.
She said the students who began vomiting blood after taking the tea were rushed to the O.B Lulu-Briggs Medical Centre in the University Of Port Harcourt where they were being placed on treatment.

However, when contacted, the school denied that Hypo was the cause of the incident saying that it was food poisoning.
The school added that the incident is still being investigated.
Our correspondent gathered that some of the students were brought to the medical centre unconscious.
Another student of the school told theportcitynews that as much as 120 students have been hospitalised after they drank the tea.
