The Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, Samuel Nwanosike has vowed to bring those responsible for the attacks on the Palace of the paramount ruler of Elele, His Royal Majesty, Eze G. O. Amadi, Nyenwe Ali Elele, and Amos Ezekiel, Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman of the town to book.
It was gathered that cultist on Sunday attacked the palace of the traditional ruler and the home of the CDC chairman over the introduction of a vigilante group that will assist in combating crimes and criminality within the area.
The cultists burnt six cars belonging to the traditional ruler and one belonging to the CDC chairman.
Nnamdi Omoni, the public relations officer of the Rivers State command had announced that the command arrested three persons in connection to the attack.

But Nwanosike, while speaking through the Council’s Secretary, Obinna Ekem, during a condolence visit to King G. O. Amadi and Barr Ezekiel on noted that the criminals that were declared wanted by the government of Rivers State cannot harass him to succumb to their wishes.
The council chair said that they should not be wasting their time by unleashing attacks on those who mean well for the LGA and state, adding that Ikwerre LGA and Elele, in particular, must be sanitised of all criminals.
“Those criminals declared wanted by the government of Rivers State cannot harass us to succumb to their wishes or backed out by attacking innocent citizens.
“We will make sure that Ikwerre Local Government, Elele in particular, is sanitised and all criminal elements rooted out”, he said.
While describing the attack as a sacrilege, the Ikwerre LGA boss assured that the Council is solidly behind the Royal Majesty and CDC Chairman and will do everything possible to ensure that the perpetrators of the crimes will never go unpunished.
