The Kelechi Wogu-led Adhoc committee of the Rivers State House of Assembly which is investigating the handling of serial Killing of girls in hotels by security agencies has uncovered a new CCTV footage where the suspect allegedly disappeared.
A prime suspect in the killing of girls, Gracious David West, was arrested weeks ago after a CCTV footage alleging to be him and a victim appeared on the Internet.
The Adhoc committee, after a meeting with staff and management of Vhelbherg Imperial Hotel, disagreed with the footage, as the suspect, Gracious David West, allegedly disappeared from the monitor.
The committee expressed displeasure over the CCTV footage which it alleged to have been edited despite warnings for hotels not to do so.
Kelechi Nwogwu who is the lawmaker representing Omuma constituency said the new CCTV footage will be tendered to the police for further investigations.
He added that the committee has confidence in the police and urged them to do more in combatting crime in the state.
