Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) in collaboration with ExxonMobil and Cherie Blair Foundation for women organized a masterclass for women themed ‘The Art of Pitching’ to commemorate the 2019 International Women’s Day.

The event was graced by women from different walks of life with interest in business. The class was held at Swiss Spirit Hotel and Suites Port Harcourt.

The facilitator of the class Nnenna Okekaeru, the deputy director of Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) taught the class what The Art of Pitching entails.

Before the class commenced proper, participants were asked to speed network within them. Later on the people with the most contacts from the speed network section were presented with gifts by the organizers of the problem.

“Everything counts when you are pitching” she says. “Your tone, body language all matters”

She urged the class participants to always practice their pitch before presenting it to the people that mattered.

After the class, some participants of the class volunteered to put what they have learnt to practice by pitching to other members of the class. At the end, a winner emerged with two runners-up. They were gifted with special packages.

The facilitator encouraged women to be more professional while dealing with clients.

She encouraged them to embrace equity investment in their business and ensure they keep record of their growth and events that have helped shape their experiences.

Herventure App was introduced to the participants.

Herventure App is an App specially crafted for women in business. This App helps in building business skills and financial literacy for female entrepreneurs.
