Brides preparing for their weddings react to postponement of elections

Reactions have continued to trail the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to postpone the today’s presidential and national assembly elections.

Nigerians are still at loss at the decision of the commission to shift the polls with Nigerians calling for the sack of the INEC boss.

However, brides who postponed their weddings because of the elections have come hard on the commission, saying that it spoilt their arrangements and still did not conduct the elections.

Some of the brides who spoke to theportcitynews said that the postponement is infuriating, adding that the commission recently has been quite notorious for holding inconclusive elections.

One of the brides Kikanwo whose wedding was to hold on the newly announced date for the elections said that the elections cannot stop her from getting married on the said date.

According to her: “INEC cannot stop me from holding my wedding. They said that the elections were today and we agreed. They have to postpone the elections again on the day that I am getting married so that there will be peace”

Another bride Anselam told theportcitynews that the election postponement has disorganized all her plans, explaining that she will not postpone her wedding but will likely hold it at night when the elections are over.
