Mr Samuel Adjogbe, the Executive Director of Projects, EDP, of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has restated the commitment of President Muhammadu Buhari to the development of the Niger Delta region.
Adjogbe, during the weekend, spoke on behalf of the commission in Asaba during the 7th Annual National Dinner of Government College, Ughelli, Old Boys Association, GCUOBA.
He said the NDDC would soon embark on the renovation of two hostel blocks in the college.
He said the commission has constructed over 4 kilometres of road in Government College, Ughelli.
Adjogbe, who is an alumnus of the college, said: “Every achievement of the NDDC remains attributable to the mandate of Mr. President for the Niger Delta region. “Government College Ughelli is just one of many public schools in the Niger Delta region to have felt the impact of this mandate.
“The change mantra of restoring our institutions to their glory days had long kicked off through the NDDC School Renovation Programme, the supply of desks to schools and even through emergency internal road repairs in some schools.”
Receiving an award which was presented to the NDDC by GCUOBA, Adjogbe thanked the association for the recognition and dedicated the award to President Buhari, whom he said was relentless in his resolve to positively transform the Niger Delta region.
President General GCUOBA Worldwide, Prof. Oritsegbemi Omatete, said the award was in recognition of the commission’s commitment to the mandate of making a difference in communities and institutions in its operational area.
