Rivers APC Crisis: Appeal Court to rule on Thursday

The crisis rocking congresses of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Rivers State is about to end as the Appeal Court is set to deliver it’s ruling on Thursday, 21st June 2018 at the Appeal Court Complex in Port Harcourt by 2 pm.

TPCN reported that the Rivers State faction of the party loyal to the minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, had approached the Appeal Court and prayed it to vacate the interlocutory order earlier granted to the faction loyal to Senator Magnus Abe by the Rivers State High Court on the ground that the suit lacked merit and should be set aside.

The battle between the two factions has created a fierce leadership tussle within the party with the faction loyal to Senator Magnus Abe saying that they will not recognize the leadership of the Ojukaye Flag-Amachree’s led executive.

On that ground, the Senator Magnus Abe’s faction headed the call by the Rivers State High Court which ruled that the party should return to status quo pending the determination of the suit brought before it by installing Prince Peter Odike as acting chairman.
