Rivers APC chieftain fingers Wike in High Court judgement.

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State has accused Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, of influencing the judgment delivered earlier this week by Justice Chiwendu Nworgu of the Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt which had nullified the State’s APC Ward, Local Government and State Congresses that led to the emergence of Ojukaye Flag Amachree as Chairman of the party.

Recall that a High Court sitting in Port Harcourt had on Wednesday, May 30th, declared as null and void, the ward, local government and state congresses conducted by the APC in the state.

A former Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Leeyii Kwanee, who made the allegation, said the state executive arm of government can not exonerate itself from what played out in the judgment.

The former state lawmaker also expressed worries over the way the judiciary has been manipulated by politicians, adding that the judiciary is gradually losing its independence which he said is not good for the country’s nascent democracy.
