Rivers Angels Beat Edo Queens as they claim cash Reward

Port Harcourt Football team, Rivers Angels beat Benin-based Edo Queens 2 goals to 1 in their matchday two fixture of the Nigeria Women Football League’s Super Six playoff tournament at the Samson Siasia stadium on Monday to gain brag over the Edo Queens who are unbeaten to Rivers United prior to the Monday’s showdown.

The former Larry Angels, 7 time Nigerian Women Football League champions, and 8 times Cup winners who were home to megastars and Global Ballers such as Asisat Oshoala, Chioma Ajunwa, Gloria Chinasa, Ebere Orji, Ulunma Jerome, Francisca Ordega, And Stella Mbachu, drew fierce south south arch rivals Bayelsa Queens in the match day 1 of the Nigerian Women Football League Super Six playoff, and where rewarded with the sum of two million Nigerian Naira by the able Rivers state commissioner for sports, which spurred them to get a win against Edo Queens.

The Port Harcourt-based club secured a 2-1 win over Edo Queens at the Samson Siasia Stadium, where Florence Alexander and an own goal from Valentina Uroko gave them the win. Emem Essien found the net to console the Benin side team, with Olamide Adugbe leaving the tie in the 81st minute due to an Injury sustained in the tie.

This prompted the commissioner to dish out another cash reward of 2 million Nigerian Naira to boost the morale of the Rivers ladies and to spur them to go all the way in the Nigerian Women Football League Super Six playoffs.

With one win and one draw in two games, Rivers Angels currently occupy the top position on the log with four points and will lock horns with Northern-based Nasarawa Amazons on Wednesday.

With Four Million Nigerian Naira the Jewel of Rivers are armed and motivated to break any oncoming Blockade.
