The Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture PHACCIMA has said that the change of venue from Isaac Boro Park to Obi Wali International Cultural Center for the 2019 International Trade Fair was as a result of discomfort experienced by exhibitors and visitors at the initial venue.

Chairman Publicity Sub-committee for the 2019 Trade Fair, Uche Onochie, who stated this while fielding questions from our reporter, Tina Amanda, said that Obi Wali Cultural Center provides companies, exhibitors more comfort and larger space to set up pavilions for their business showcase.

According to him, PHACCIMA has put in place all necessary facilities including security to ensure that both the international and local participants of the fair are comfortable.

“For now Obi Wali Cultural Center suits our purpose, the event is to buy and sell, so it is our duty to take our investors to a place where they would be comfortable. Companies that shy away from Isaac Boro Park are now eager to come to Obi Wali and take a stand, we are really happy about the development so far.

“All the things we want to do in terms of having entertainment village, kiddies section, a different segment for exhibitors, provide a place where visitors, investors can comfortably park their cars without issues are all there in Obi Wali. We want companies to come and have larger spaces without worrying what happens when it rains”

“PHACCIMA is looking at how to continue to ride on the moment of some of these things we are doing. What we want is to explore other ends, so we can offer our visitors something better. Both places are owned by the state government, is not as if it is a private place, nothing lasts forever”

He, however, urged residents of the state to explore the 2019 International Trade Fair to develop and better their lives, as there would be various promising opportunities during the fair.

“It is safe to do business in Port Harcourt. Do not be deceived, there are companies still trading here in Portharcourt. Things like this will attract lots of people, you can get contact, future partners, business associates from this trade fair.

“PHACCIMA being the leader of the Organising Private Sector (OPS) is something we will love the people of Rivers State to come to enjoy and participate with other business entrepreneurs to learn one or two business ideas.

“Nobody should miss this year’s PHACCIMA International Trade Fair, because it will be awesome, so many things have been put in place to the fair’s worthwhile”
