The NPFL leading goal scorer Ishaq Kayode Rafiu was a notable absentee but the return of safe hands Theophilus Afelokai and Chiamaka Madu gave the fans something to cheer for.

Technical Manager of Rivers United, Stanley Eguma during the post-match conference said the victory will serve as a morale booster for the team.

He said that the team will continue to overcome any obstacles that come their way.

”Well we know that the league is a race and in a race, there may be some obstacles and few stumbles along the way, but you need to brace up and shake up those obstacles and continue your journey. I feel that we’re still on track despite our setback in Jos. It is not yet over and the players are aware of that and that is why they put up a spirited effort today to ensure we get the result. Because this result will actually play a motivational role to them and will pump them up to let them know that they can keep the winning streak” he said.

Rivers United will be guest to Abia Warriors in Okigwe on matchday 13.
