As more condemnations continue to trail the inhuman treatment meted out to Upata citizens and other residents by OSPAC, the Upata Traditional Council has joined in the condemnation of the excesses of the local security outfit.

The Council, during a brief meeting on Saturday, berated the group for acting beyond its powers.

The Council also alleged that their involvement in oil bunkering is most disheartening and disappointing.

“The brutal murder of Master Modhiochi Okparanwo, a native of Ikata community in Upata Kingdom and another who is yet to be identified, by OSPAC is unacceptable and they must take full responsibility.

“The Council considers this death as heinous, barbaric and ungodly” Chime Oyaghiri, Secretary of the Council said in a statement made available to theportcitynews on Sunday.

“Master Modhiochi Okparanwo and the other are innocent youths, they don’t deserve death and not in this reckless manner.

“While the Council and the entire Upata people mourn this painful death, OSPAC should leave Upata land. OSPAC is henceforth banned from operating in the kingdom until full explanation is given as to why Master Modhiochi Okparanwo and the other, now in the mortuary were gruesomely murdered.

“The Council appeal for calm and the people should refrain not to pay evil for evil as our overall goal is to ensure a conducive environment for investments. There must be peace in order to blossom the Upata vision”.
