Splinter PMAN emerges in Rivers State

A splinter group of Practicing Musician Association Of Nigeria, PMAN, Port Harcourt Branch has emerged in Ogoni.

The splinter PMAN, under the leadership of Gaawa Malega, had its first meeting on Monday, in Tai Local Government Area.

The move by the group to split from the main PMAN in the state was criticised by stakeholders in the industry as they said the group lacked ability to create, form or inaugurate such a body which is solely the responsibility of the National Executive Council, NEC & National Working Committee, NWC, of PMAN through a national congress.

Speaking to TPCN, an Ogoni-born high life sensation, Lexi Mueka said that being a musician is not a guarantee that one must be a PMAN member. “You must be a registered member with a valid ID card” he said.

According to him: “That thing and horrible mistake are another trouble ready to explode. We are not done with cult clashes in the land now this one?”

An attempt by theportcitynews to get the reaction of the leaders of the new group failed as they did not respond to our text messages as at the time of filing this report.
