The Rivers State Governorship Aspirant under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC)Michael Ibinabo West has said he will ensure the that governor Nyesom Wike’s anointed successor loses in 2023.
This is as he has described women as a major political force ,asset and more importantly as tools towards achieving democratic gains .
The Former Lawmaker in the Rivers State House of Assembly stated this on Tuesday when he met with both State and Local Government elected APC Women Leaders in his Port Harcourt office.
Addressing the Women,the Former Commissioner For Transport disclosed that as part of his ongoing consultation with critical Stakeholders, he considers women as key players within the Political space,hence the visit to declare his Gubernatorial intention to them.
Chief West hinted that his developmental blue_print as a former member Rivers State House of Assembly are enduring legacies of his known genuine intention in ensuring that the dividends of democracy are brought closer to the people.
He narrated that he came out third (3) ,among the twenty five (25), Governorship Aspirants in the primaries conducted by the Peoples Democratic party (PDP),in 2015 and first position among the eighteen (18) Riverine contenders, making him outstanding and tall to deserve the ticket.
Chief West added that his cardinal focus was to ensure that Gov. Wike does not get a successor coming from him.
He said he had a rethink and took a decision when the Minister of Transportation, Cbibuike Rotimi Amaechi at Ogu Bolo Local Government Area declared that he will support a Riverine Governor.
In their separate responses,the State Women leader,Mrs Beatrice Dappa Amobi,the Coordinator of the 23 LGA Women Leaders Mrs Christiana Dede, Mrs .Uzor Abuel thanked Chief Michael West for the opportunity to consult the Women.
